2026-2027 Before/After School Programming RFP

We are seeking input from stakeholders to inform decisions related before and after school programming options.

1. Please share your thoughts in this survey. The survey will close on Friday, April 17.
2. You are invited to attend a virtual listening session on Tuesday, April 14 from 6:30-7:30 p.m.. Please register for the session to receive the Zoom link. Registration allows us to prepare for the session and request interpreters for those who need live interpretation.
3. We are also inviting a limited number of caregivers to be part of the Advisory Committee to review proposals from vendors. If you’d like to be considered to be part of this committee, please complete this form by Friday, April 17. Please note: Advisory Committee members will need to be available for up to 6 hours of in-person, weeknight meeting time between 6-8p.m. the week of April 27. There will be up to 3 additional, optional hours of work during the week of May 4 for caregivers on the panel to choose to attend site visit(s) to existing programs run by prospective vendors.
    

An Advisory Committee, made up of district leaders, school principals, current MOST staff, School Committee members, and current MOST caregivers, will meet to review all proposals and rank them using a rubric. Attached is a copy of the rubric that is included in the Request for Proposals packet that vendors receive.

Program registration is not currently available for fall 2026. For anyone who is interested in having one or more of their students participate in before or after school programming through the Malden Public Schools next school year, please complete this form to indicate your interest. 

We will be sure to send information about next year's program including how to register to anyone who completes this interest form. Completing this interest form is not the same as registering; you will still need to register your student(s) for programming when registration is available.

Malden Public Schools plans to run before and after school programming at all K-8 schools next year (please note that after school programming at Ferryway is run by the YWCA).

Malden Public Schools is looking to expand afterschool opportunities for more students while continuing to improve the program in a sustainable way. 

We want to reassure you that while the management of the program may shift, we hope to maintain as much consistency in staff as possible. We hope there will be many familiar faces in each of our afterschool programs next year!
