Linked below is a listing of some district resources and their associated Student Data Privacy Agreements (SDPA's). The information listed includes; Resource Name and Purpose, Company, Status, Grade Level and Content Area the resource is used, and a link to the contract/agreement addressing the required student data privacy terms.

As of October 2025, this list is not exhaustive of all technology used by students in Malden. Malden is committed to expanding this list over time and developing  a list of "not approved" resources alongside those marked as "approved."

Benefits of a Student Data Privacy Agreement

  • Gives school districts ownership & control of student data
  • Defines how a vendor may & may not use student data
  • Prohibits “targeted” advertising to students
  • Gives school districts the right to audit a vendor
  • Defines minimum acceptable data security requirements
  • Requires timely district notification in event of a data breach
  • It’s a LEGAL and enforceable agreement between a vendor and the school district
  • Once signed a DPA is signed by both parties, it supersedes a vendor’s Terms of Service and Privacy Policy where they conflict
  • It also requires vendors to conduct criminal background checks on all its employees with access to students
