Student Art on Display in Malden

For a Malden Center T Station mural installation, the MBTA hosted a contest to determine what artists’ work would be included as final large panels. Malden High School students in Kristina Gilbert's Studio 3 class submitted individual 11x14 representations of their proposed project to the contest. From the class, the MBTA selected one winning panel to be the center of a collage surrounded by the works of other students who had entered the contest. For the works selected, students collaborated to paint the large middle panel and the smaller panels around the outside. You can visit the mural installation along the bridge on Summer Street!
